Meir is a talented Director who actively sought out his assignment to Bushwick Center. “I want to be in a place where I can know everyone by more than just their names. I want to get to know my residents the way I know my friends.” That was exactly the sort of administrator we were looking for, and we know we found the perfect match. Just ask any resident here, and they’ll tell you that since his very first day, Meir is always around, always stopping to talk with them, always asking how they are and if there’s anything he can do for them. With people like Meir, it’s no wonder Bushwick Center is a Medicare.gov 5-star home.

Iris Goldstein has been at Richmond Center for nearly twenty-five years. She started her career at Brookdale Hospital and then worked at St. Elizabeth’s, where she remained until 2012, which is when Richmond Center became part of the Centers Health Care family. There may even be some truth to the rumor that Centers added a facility on Staten Island just to get Iris Goldstein. She is the “mother hen” to hundreds of residents and knows them all by name, a mentor to a team of energetic therapists, and a life coach to friends and co-workers. Plus, she does it all while running a state-of-the-art rehabilitation department, where she not only participates in developing the care plans for each patient, she is a hands-on therapist as well. And she does it all with a smile. The only time you can expect to see Iris sad are those bittersweet days when she says goodbye to a resident who became a treasured friend in the therapy department and is walking out of Richmond Center to return to their own home.
